Senior Camden Christie and junior Liam Avon, Knoch High's 2026 Extreme Leaders, presented their service project to peers and superintendents from over 25 schools on Wednesday, April 8, at the Midwestern IU. Each year, two student leaders are chosen from each district in Butler, Lawrence, and Mercer counties to bring their communities together through acts of volunteerism and charity.
The Extreme Leaders started a new project this year called the Knights Impact Initiative (KII). The goal is to develop a more engaging and student-driven environment, leading to increased school spirit and improved mental health. The first part of the project is to renovate the courtyard outside of the cafeteria and to use student artwork to tie the old and new parts of the building together. The KII is a multiyear endeavor with long-term goals of adding a court projection system in the gym and creating an outdoor learning center. About 25 other students have joined Cam and Liam, and any other student who wants to get involved can see Ms. Thompson or join the Classroom (the code is posted on the doors leading to the courtyard).
