This afternoon the electrical contractor was digging to insert a new electrical line. Unfortunately, they struck an older portion of the gas line that was not replaced during our most recent issue two weeks ago. The gas was immediately shut off and will remain off until this section of the gas line is replaced. With warmer weather, it is not necessary to supply our buildings with heat. Therefore, students and staff at our secondary buildings are safe to continue with our normal schedule. However, there will not be hot water, and cold lunches will be served at the high school and middle school buildings until the issue is rectified. Hand-sanitizing stations are available throughout the buildings.
To ensure the safety of students and staff, the gas company will not restore gas to the building during the school day. We will continue to communicate updates throughout the restoration process. This issue does not impact either of our elementary buildings.
